Throughout his career, James Silverstein’s practice has focused on representing insurance companies. His work has included providing insurance coverage advice and litigating equitable contribution, declaratory relief, and bad faith actions. James handles litigation that is primarily venued in state and federal courts in California. His coverage work has involved a wide range of insurance policies including commercial general liability, professional liability, first party property, personal auto and homeowners’ insurance. Prior to joining BHC Law Group, he was a partner, for more than 20 years, at a Northern California law firm whose practice concentrated on insurance coverage for construction defect claims throughout the United States.

James lives in Marin County, with his wife, and two teenage daughters. His hobbies include running, skiing and rooting for the California Golden Bears. He regularly gives back to his community by volunteering at the SF-Marin Food Bank with his daughters.
